Those top-ups do not sit on your account forever: Augment states that usage top-ups which are not part of your paid plan are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Includes CLI access, MCP and native tools, usage analytics, 50 concurrent sessions, and SOC 2 Type II. It is not a better rate than Standard, it is a bigger prepaid bucket: the two plans carry an identical feature list and the extra $80 of price buys exactly $80 more usage.

The 2026 pricing change: the individual plans are gone
If you remember Augment costing $20 a month, the price is back but the plan is not. In 2026 Augment retired every individual tier, dropped the free completions product, and briefly consolidated onto the $100 Business plan. The Standard plan that now sits at $20 is a flat team plan covering up to 50 seats, not the old single-user Indie tier. Here is what actually went away.

Augment also sunset inline code completions on March 31, 2026 and shifted its focus toward agentic, multi-step work. The practical effect for a solo developer or a small team has moved twice: the cheapest way to use Augment went from $20 a month to $100, and is now $20 again on the Standard plan, though there is still no free or single-user option below it. What has not come back is inline completion, so anyone shopping for autocomplete is shopping in the wrong place.
