Why Workato bills climb faster than the forecast
Workato's docs are precise about what counts. A Task is one action step. Triggers are free and IF conditions are free, but every action inside a Repeat for each loop counts once per item. A recipe that reads an invoice, then loops over its 40 lines to look up each item and write it to NetSuite, is two Tasks per line, 80 Tasks for one invoice, before the header and the notification.
The same docs list what else adds up. Rerunning a failed job counts again. Mocked actions you run while testing count. Steps that use AI by Workato count as more than one Task each, at a rate set in your contract. And since February 2024 usage is converted into Workato credits, one balance shared by recipes, API calls, data pipeline rows and agent prompts. That is flexible, and it also means a busy data pipeline can drain the budget your order sync was counting on.

Workato publishes prices only for its self-service Pro plan. Joined before February 2024?
